This beef korma recipe is an absolute hit with my family. The curry spice mix doesn't take long to make yourself, and it really is what sets this curry recipe apart. Serve with basmati rice or naan bread.

  • 600g diced beef stewing steak

  1. Spice paste: grind coriander seed, cumin seed, cardamon seed, paprika and cloves to a powder. Add the water, almonds, garlic, ginger, salt and cinnamon and blend together.
  2. Brown beef in some oil, then remove from heat.
  3. Lightly brown onion in some oil, then add spice paste and cook for further 4 minutes.
  4. Add browned beef to the onion and spices with 4 tablespoons water. Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the beef is cooked through and tender (depends on the thickness of the beef).
  5. Cook and stir cream, yoghurt, flour and garam masala together with beef until bubbles and is thickened. Add chopped coriander. Simmer for 2 minutes and serve.

Absolutely delicious! (although must admit I added a teaspoon of crushed chilli to the spice mix)..... definitely wouldn't include the flour at the end next time though - make it a little 'claggy'-14 Jun 2013

Really tasty you could always add some cayenne pepper to spice it up a little......-08 Sep 2011

Not Authentic. Very bland. Needs more onion and salt and Hot Indian chili powder is a must. I added one TSP. But had to add more later. DId not even consider adding flour, that was just odd. The ingredients are pretty much right they are just in wrong proportions. It was like someone tried to water down a good recipe for a western pallet.-05 Mar 2016
